History Repeating

I, myself, am made entirely of flaws stitched together with good intentions.

22 and will be forever. peanut butter, baking, rope swings over the river, friends & family, Cary Grant, Ireland, playing sports (as opposed to watching), music, books, Delta Kappa Sigma, California, musicals, Judy Garland, bike rides, spooning, and, shoes. I drink my coffee black and my whiskey neat and the man who gives me cheese instead of chocolate will most likely be the man i marry.

The Green-Eyed Monster of Greek Envy

I hate my history class. Half of the 100 students are Greek and I hate them all. Potential upturned nose attitude aside, I hate them because none of the letters I see are my own. None of the girls are my sisters. It’s an awful feeling like being another raindrop in a puddle instead of a pink paint splatter on a white wall. While a majority of the run-of-the-mill Greek life on campus irks me (because my sisters are never just run-of-the-mill), I still get jealous. Sure, these girls have their commitments to fill, meetings to attend, events to plan, and stress to cope with which makes my hair want to fall out just thinking about it, but there are also fro-yo trips to take, movie nights to have, classes to be cut and replaced with coffee dates, and a support system better than a wonder bra. And I am colored green with envy. I’m homesick. I miss my sisters.

My city is San Francisco, my home is Delta Kappa Sigma.
